Each year, Toronto Metropolitan University and the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science (FEAS) offer numerous entrance scholarships to incoming students who are accepted into an engineering program. The university and the Department of Mechanical, Industrial, and Mechatronics Engineering also offer awards for students that continue studies in their respective programs after the first year. There are unique eligibility criteria for each of the entrance scholarships and the awards available to current students. More information on this can be found below.

Prospective Mechatronics students will be considered for awards and scholarships in the table below, subject to eligibility criteria. 2023/2024 AwardSpring (external link)  Cycle is now closed: The application period for current undergraduate students was from September 25, 2023 to October 16, 2023.

To be considered for the awards and scholarships in the table below, visit the university's scholarships and awards platform (external link) , log in with your TMU account credentials, and enter the necessary application information. You'll be automatically matched with all scholarships and awards relevant to you and for which you're eligible, and there is no additional application required. The department will contact you if you're selected for any of these.

Scholarship/Award Name Description/Eligibility Criteria

Canadian Congress of Applied Mechanics Awards

This scholarship provides two third-year students who demonstrate financial need and academic achievement in the study of thermofluids or solid mechanics. Students must be enrolled full time in Mechanical Engineering.

Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering Award

This award recognizes outstanding academic achievement on the completion of the first year of the Mechanical Engineering program. A minimum CGPA of 3.00 and demonstrated financial need are required.

CSME Student Gold Medal Award

A Gold Medal Award, given for outstanding academic achievement in the Mechanical Engineering program by a student who has completed their third year.

Department of Mechanical, Industrial, and Mechatronics Engineering Achievement Award

To be eligible for this award you must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement on the completion of first, second or third year as evidenced by a minimum CGPA of 3.00 and financial need.

Dugald Cameron Memorial Award

To be eligible for this award, you must demonstrate high academic standing and entrepreneurial activity combined with an innovative and creative approach to the program.

International Society for Optomechatronics (ISOM) Scholarship This award recognizes the academic achievement of a student who has completed their third year in the Mechanical Engineering program with excellence in the Mechatronics Option, and is currently enrolled in their fourth and final year.

Jack Roy Longstaffe Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded for outstanding performance throughout the first three years of the degree program.

Mechanical Engineering Alumni Awards

This award recognizes students for outstanding academic performance as determined by the Cumulative Grade Point Average.

Michael Poczo Jr. Memorial Awards

This award is open to students who balance academic achievement, entrepreneurial thought, leadership and drive. You must be a full-time Mechanical Engineering student who demonstrates a high degree of professionalism and financial need.

North American Die Casting Association Chapter 10 Ontario Award

This award recognizes the academic achievement of a full-time student who has demonstrated interest in metal casting and is enrolled in the third or fourth year of the Mechanical Engineering program.

Robert K. Baxter Memorial Award

To be eligible for this award, you must demonstrate good academic performance combined with high grades in Thermofluids courses.

Robotics International/Society of Manufacturing Engineers Award

To be eligible, you must demonstrate academic excellence and financial need.
