Academic Background

I received my BA and MSc in Mathematics (external link, opens in new window)  from the University of Athens (external link, opens in new window) , and completed my PhD in Computer Science (external link, opens in new window)  from the University of Toronto (external link, opens in new window)  in 2010 under the supervision of Avner Magen (external link, opens in new window)  and Toni Pitassi (external link, opens in new window) . After that, I spent five years at the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization (external link, opens in new window)  at the University of Waterloo (external link, opens in new window) , first as a postdoctoral fellow and later as a limited-term Assistant Professor. I joined the Department of Mathematics (opens in new window)  at Toronto Metropolitan University (opens in new window)  in 2015, where I am currently an Associate Professor.

My research focuses on combinatorial optimization, mobile agent computing, approximation algorithms, distributed algorithms, and game theory. I am affiliated with the Data Science and Analytics Program (opens in new window)  at TMU and the Computation and Reasoning Laboratory (external link, opens in new window)  at the National Technical University of Athens. I also serve as an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University's School of Computer Science (external link, opens in new window)

I have taught a variety of courses, including Discrete Mathematics, Linear Optimization, Non-Linear Optimization, Combinatorial Optimization, Introduction to Search Theory, Combinatorics, Portfolio Optimization, and Mathematical Game Theory.

I am a member of the ACM (external link, opens in new window) , AMS (external link, opens in new window) , CMS (external link, opens in new window) , and HCAAO (external link, opens in new window) .
