Description
i am... is a digital storytelling project that brought together graduate students from across Canada to capture their individual stories of belonging or non-belonging through a three-minute film. The goal of this project is to better understand the legacy of idealism, particularly within the context of the Black Lives Matter movement and resistance to settler colonialism.

Description
The WhereWeStand project paired Indigenous and newcomer participants together to produce creative works that deconstructed Canada’s colonial past and reimagined their relationship with the land and its people. The project fostered rare collaborations, bringing together individuals living in very different communities, sometimes even different time zones, to produce a shared narrative. Their works, which could be expressed in any form of their choosing – including dance, spoken word, film and material art – provides a unique window into expressions of identity and belonging.
