Special Topics in Film
This course provides a critical overview of a chosen topic in film studies. Topics may include close studies of major and emergent film genres, in-depth studies of specific historical periods or national cinemas, surveys of the work of individual filmmakers, alternative and experimental movements, and topics that respond to contemporary or historical events. The course promotes an international, multicultural approach to exploring the ways cinema dialogues with its cultural and historical contexts and other art forms such as painting, photography, literature, music, and theatre.
