Undeclared Arts Transferability Guidelines

Students admitted to the Bachelor of Arts programs in Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology or Sociology may transfer to any one of the other nine programs or to any one of the approved double major programs for the Fall term of their second year of studies. Applications are provided via Google Form and must be submitted by February 2nd. Transfer applications are considered on a competitive basis subject to program capacity, and therefore, program choice cannot be guaranteed.

Students intending to transfer to Criminology for second year from any of English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology, or Sociology, are encouraged to present a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 (B) in their first semester studies at Toronto Met to maximize their chances for consideration, subject to competition and available second-year spaces. Possession of the minimum cumulative grade point average does not guarantee program transfer. Students must have successfully completed CRM 100 in order to transfer to Criminology for the Fall term of their second year of studies. It is strongly recommended that students complete both CRM 100 and CRM 102 in first year.

In order to transfer to the Criminology and History Double Major from any of Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology, or Sociology, students are encouraged to present a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 (B) in their first semester studies at Toronto Met to maximize their chances for consideration, subject to competition and available second-year spaces. It is strongly recommended that students complete, in first year, both CRM 100 and CRM 102 as well as two HIS courses numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399 (or HIS 461, HIS 462 or HIS 490).

HST courses may be substituted for HIS courses with departmental approval.

In order to transfer to the Criminology and Politics & Governance Double Major from any of Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology, or Sociology, students are encouraged to present a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 (B) in their first semester studies at Toronto Met to maximize their chances for consideration, subject to competition and available second-year spaces. In order to transfer to English from any of Criminology, Environmental and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology, or Sociology, students must:

1. have a CLEAR Academic Standing at the end of the Winter term of their second semester of studies; and
2. have successfully completed ENG 110. It is strongly recommended that students complete both ENG 110 and ENG 208 in first year.

In order to transfer to the English and History Double Major from any of Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology, or Sociology, students must:

1. have a CLEAR Academic Standing at the end of the Winter term of their second semester of studies; and
2. must have successfully completed ENG 110 and one HIS course numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399 or one of HIS 461, HIS 462 or HIS 490. It is strongly recommended that students complete, in first year, both ENG 110 and ENG 208 as well as two HIS courses numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399 or HIS 461, HIS 462 and HIS 490.

HST courses may be substituted for HIS courses with departmental approval.

In order to transfer to the English and Philosophy Double Major from any of Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology, or Sociology, students must:

1. have a CLEAR Academic Standing at the end of the Winter term of their second semester of studies; and
2. must have successfully completed ENG 110 and one of PHL 101, PHL 201, PHL 333, or PHL 366. It is strongly recommended that students complete, in first year, both ENG 110 and ENG 208 as well as two of PHL 101, PHL 201, PHL 333, and PHL 366.

In order to transfer to Environment and Urban Sustainability from any of Criminology, English, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology, or Sociology, students must:

1. have a CLEAR Academic Standing at the end of the Winter term of their second semester of studies; and
2. have successfully completed EUS 102 or EUS 202. It is strongly recommended that students complete both EUS 102 and EUS 202 in first year.

In order to transfer to Geographic Analysis from any of Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology, or Sociology, students must:

1. have a CLEAR Academic Standing at the end of the Winter term of their second semester of studies; and
2. have successfully completed GEO 131 or GEO 151. It is strongly recommended that students complete both GEO 131 and GEO 151 in first year.

In order to transfer to History from any of Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology, or Sociology, students must:

1. have a CLEAR Academic Standing at the end of the Winter term of their second semester of studies; and
2. have successfully completed one HIS course numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399 or one of HIS 461, HIS 462 or HIS 490. It is strongly recommended that students complete two HIS courses numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399 or HIS 461, HIS 462 and HIS 490 in first year.

HST courses may be substituted for HIS courses with departmental approval.

In order to transfer to the History and Philosophy Double Major from any of Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology, or Sociology, students must:

1. have a CLEAR Academic Standing at the end of the Winter term of their second semester of studies; and
2. must have successfully completed one HIS course numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399 or one of HIS 461, HIS 462 or HIS 490 as well as one of PHL 101, PHL 201, PHL 333, or PHL 366. It is strongly recommended that students complete, in first year, two HIS courses numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399 or HIS 461, HIS 462 and HIS 490 as well as two of PHL 101, PHL 201, PHL 333, and PHL 366.

HST courses may be substituted for HIS courses with departmental approval.

In order to transfer to History and Politics & Governance from any of Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Politics and Governance, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Psychology, or Sociology, students must:

1. have a CLEAR Academic Standing at the end of the Winter term of their second semester of studies; and
   
   
2. must have successfully completed one HIS course numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399, or one of HIS 461, HIS 462 or HIS 490, as well as POG 100 or POG 110. It is strongly recommended that, in first year, students complete two HIS courses numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399, or one of HIS 461, HIS 462 or HIS 490, as well as POG 100 and POG 110.

HST courses may be substituted for HIS courses with departmental approval.

In order to transfer to the History and Sociology Double Major from any of Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology, or Sociology, students must:

1. have a CLEAR Academic Standing at the end of the Winter term of their second semester of studies; and
   
   
2.  must have successfully completed SOC 105 and one HIS course numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399, or one of HIS 461, HIS 462 or HIS 490. It is strongly recommended that students complete, in first year, both SOC 105 and SOC 107, and two HIS courses numbered between HIS 100 and HIS 399, or one of HIS 461, HIS 462 or HIS 490.

HST courses may be substituted for HIS courses with departmental approval.

In order to transfer to Language and Intercultural Relations from any of Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology, or Sociology, students must:

1. have a CLEAR Academic Standing at the end of the Winter term of their second semester of studies; and
2. have successfully completed LIR 100. It is strongly recommended that students complete LIR 100 and a FRE or SPN course above the 101 level in first year.

Students must select either the French or Spanish stream.

In order to transfer to Philosophy from any of Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, Language and Intercultural Relations, Politics and Governance, Psychology, or Sociology, students must:

1. have a CLEAR Academic Standing at the end of the Winter term of their second semester of studies; and
2. have successfully completed PHL 102 and preferably one of PHL 101, PHL 110, PHL 187, PHL 201, PHL 212, PHL 306, PHL 333, PHL 365, PHL 366, and PHL 406
   

In order to transfer to Politics and Governance from any of Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Psychology, or Sociology, students must:

1. have a CLEAR Academic Standing at the end of the Winter term of their second semester of studies; and
2. have successfully completed POG 100 or POG 110. It is strongly recommended that students complete both POG 100 and POG 110 in first year.

In order to transfer to Politics and Governance and Sociology from any of Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Politics and Governance, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Psychology, or Sociology, students must:

1. have a CLEAR Academic Standing at the end of the Winter term of their second semester of studies; and
   
   
2. have successfully completed POG 100 or POG 110 as well as SOC 105. It is strongly recommended that students complete both POG 100 and POG 110 as well as SOC 105 and SOC 107 in first year.

Students intending to transfer to Psychology for second year from any of Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, or Sociology, will normally be expected to to present a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 (B) in their first semester studies at Toronto Met to maximize their chances for consideration, subject to competition and available second-year spaces. Possession of the minimum cumulative grade point average does not guarantee program transfer. Students must have successfully completed PSY 102 in order to transfer to Psychology for the Fall term of their second year of studies. It is strongly recommended that students complete both PSY 102 and PSY 202 in first year.

In order to transfer to Sociology from Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, or Psychology, students must:

1. have a CLEAR Academic Standing at the end of the Winter term of their second semester of studies; and
2. have successfully completed SOC 105. It is strongly recommended that students complete both SOC 105 and SOC 107 in first year.
