Electrical Machines and Actuators

This course will cover essential concepts and design aspects of DC/AC motors, drives and actuators. Topics include, power electronic circuits, H bridges, PWM control, interfacing, power amplifiers, DC servo and stepper motors, Solenoids, AC synchronous and induction motors. In addition, methods of parameter identification of a loaded motor and its dynamic motion trajectory control will be covered for applications such as biomechanics or medical robotics.
