Dr. Nicole Forrester is an Assistant Professor in the Sport Media program in the RTA School of Media at The Creative School.  Dr. Forrester's scholarship centers on the psychology of sport and factors associated with high performance in super elite performers. Specifically, her research interests include the athlete's perspective and narrative, the relationship between media and the psychosocial factors associated with high performance, and understanding how athletes make the shift from good to great. 

Dr. Forrester received her Ph.D. in Sport Psychology from Michigan State University, her Master of Education in Exercise and Sport Psychology from the University of Texas, and her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts in Movement Science and Sport Management and Communication, respectively, from the University of Michigan.  She is currently completing an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University. She is a licensed Kinesiologist and a registered member with the Canadian Sport Psychology Association.

In addition to Dr. Forrester's scholarly pursuits, she is an Olympian and an 8-Time Canadian Champion who has represented Canada on 20 national teams.  She is a Commonwealth Games gold and bronze medalist and a Pan American Games silver and bronze medalist. As an NCAA athlete at the University of Michigan, she set the school and conference records, which remain in place.  In 2014, she was inducted into the University of Michigan's Women's Track & Field Hall of Fame. Dr. Forrester has amassed practical experience in media with Fox Sports Network and CBC, including as a research assistant, sports science reporter, and host.  She is also a member of the Board of Directors with Commonwealth Games Canada and the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario. She serves as an Olympic Supporter with the Canadian Olympic Committee. Before joining Toronto Met, Dr. Forrester was a founding professor in the Sport Management program at Niagara College.
