Global Health

This course focuses on the interconnected nature of public health issues, policies, and systems across geographic boundaries. Theoretical frameworks will be reviewed to understand how the socioecological determinants of health shape global health outcomes. Students will examine global health determinants, programming and policy, health systems, education, and economic development. Topics will include communicable diseases, maternal and child health, nutrition and food security, water and sanitation, health organizations, public health emergencies, and ethical and equity-based considerations.
