Nasir Hossein is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the University of Toronto, specializing in macroeconomics, innovation, and growth. He holds an M.A. from Queen's University and a BComm in Economics from Toronto Metropolitan University, where he earned the Best Academic Performance Award.
His research focuses on the impact of corporate lobbying on innovation, productivity, and social welfare. He has received several notable awards, including the SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship and leadership award from George Wong and Joey & Toby Tanenbaum.
Outside of academics, Hossein practices jiu-jitsu and volunteers with TMU's Top 200 leadership program.
