Quincia Gumbs Marie was elected in June 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Honourable Quincia Gumbs-Marie quickly rose to the challenge, spearheading Anguilla’s internationally lauded tourism reopening as Parliamentary Secretary for IT, Natural Resources, Economic Development, and Tourism. In 2022, she became Minister of Sustainability, Innovation, and the Environment, continuing her commitment to progress.

An environmentalist at heart, she chairs the OECS Council of Ministers for Environmental Sustainability and was the first Anguillian Minister to address the UNFCCC Conference of Parties. Her leadership has driven major sustainability initiatives, including the Blue Anguilla Ocean Governance Committee and Anguilla’s entry into the UK’s Blue Belt Programme. She also led the country’s largest agricultural investment and championed renewable energy transition.Known for her action-driven approach, Gumbs-Marie acknowledges the barriers women face in politics, especially in sectors like Agriculture and Fisheries. Yet, she remains steadfast, stating, “My work speaks for the women who came before me and the girl who will succeed me.”
