Ahmed Butt

Ahmed Butt is an investment professional with a strong background in global credit and private equity. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, with a minor in Business Law, from TMU, where he graduated in 2014. Ahmed is currently an Associate Portfolio Manager, Global Credit at Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO), a role he has held since February 2025. In this capacity, he is responsible for managing a portfolio of external funds across both public and private credit markets. Prior to this, Ahmed served as a Senior Analyst, Global Credit at IMCO from January 2023 to January 2025, where he focused on private credit direct deals within a team managing approximately $8 billion in assets under management (AUM). His expertise includes areas such as Direct Lending, Capital Solutions/Special Situations, and Structured/Specialty financing. Before joining IMCO, Ahmed was an Associate Vice President and Senior Credit Analyst at DMAT Capital Management Inc. from December 2020 to January 2023, where he worked on a diversified portfolio of high-yield corporate bonds, with expected durations ranging from one to five years.
