About Sheran Taneja
Sheran Taneja
Winter 2025 - Present
Bachelor of Psychology
Sheran is a fourth-year Psychology major with a minor in Disability Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University and an international student. Passionate about understanding human behaviour and mental processes, she is committed to expanding her research skills and academic knowledge through active involvement in the lab environment. She is particularly interested in Social and Clinical psychology and the ways it can support individual well-being.
Her research interests focus on how developmental and social factors shape human interaction, with a particular interest in understanding the patterns behind how people relate to one another and the conditions that can shift or influence those behaviours.
Sheran is currently volunteering as a research assistant in the CMIC Lab, where she is involved in two ongoing projects. She has gained experience in participant recruitment, lab setup, data collection, and ethical research practices, all of which are helping her build strong research and data-collection skills. This hands-on experience is providing her with a deeper understanding of how psychology can be applied in real-world settings.
