Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

Liviya Porter is a third-year undergraduate student at Toronto Metropolitan University, completing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Disability Studies. Her academic interests center on the intersections of mental health, disability, and equitable healthcare systems.

As a Research Assistant with the CMIC Lab, she brings a critical, detail-oriented approach to research, with experience reviewing datasets for consistency, identifying discrepancies, and maintaining clear documentation to ensure reproducibility. Her background in psychology and disability studies informs a thoughtful, equity-focused lens in her work, particularly in projects engaging diverse populations.

Outside of academia, Liviya is involved in both local and international magazine and article writing, in addition to practicing mixed-media art and photography as a creative outlet. Her work in storytelling and visual media reflects her broader interest in amplifying underrepresented voices and communicating nuanced ideas accessibly.

In the long term, Liviya hopes to contribute to advancing accessibility and equity within healthcare systems. She is passionate about intersectional disability advocacy and is interested in strengthening pathways to care that are grounded in the lived experiences of the communities they serve.
