Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
Kat Lozano is a third-year undergraduate student within the Bachelor of Arts Psychology program at Toronto Metropolitan University and hopes to minor in LGBTQ2S+ Studies. She has a strong research interest in cognitive and social psychology, motivated by a desire to understand the application of critical feminist frameworks within psychology.
Kat is currently gaining hands-on research experience through volunteering in the CMIC Lab, where she was given the opportunity to expand her knowledge of social and behavioural psychology and behaviours through applied research.
She enjoys volunteering with various organizations on campus, including the Psychology Students’ Association as their Vice President of Internal and External Affairs, Society of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (SASSH) as a graphic designer on their marketing committee, and with Students Planting Seeds of Tomorrow (SPROUT) as a marketing associate co-lead. Such experiences have allowed Kat to develop a strong skill set that includes an eye for detail, effective communication strategies, the ability to collaborate with a group, and improved problem-solving skills.
Her long-term goal is to become a clinical psychologist who works with LGBTQ2S+ adults and sexual assault survivors, whilst continuing research that explores the impact of feminist themes and practices within cognitive and social psychology.
