Girvani Adhikari is a third-year Psychology student at Toronto Metropolitan University with a keen interest in mental health, research, and applied psychological practice. She joined the CMIC Lab in Fall 2025 and has since been dedicated to expanding her academic and professional experience while contributing to ongoing research.
In her role as a Research Assistant, Girvani has gained hands-on experience with participant recruitment, lab setup and organization, data collection procedures, and maintaining ethical research standards. She has demonstrated leadership and teamwork by coordinating with lab members and ensuring the smooth execution of research protocols. Through this work, she has developed valuable skills in research coordination, participant engagement, and careful data handling. These responsibilities have helped her build confidence as a researcher and deepened her understanding of how ethical, evidence-based research, combined with strong collaboration and communication, can drive meaningful outcomes.
Girvani aims to pursue a career in psychology, whether through research, counselling, or a combination of both. She is particularly motivated by advancing knowledge of mental health, raising awareness, and contributing to work that promotes well-being and informed understanding of social interactions in digital contexts
