Abinayan Kokilan is a third-year undergraduate student in the Bachelor of Commerce – Business Technology Management (BTM) program at Toronto Metropolitan University. His academic interests lie at the intersection of business strategy and information systems, with a strong focus on how technology can be leveraged to improve organizational efficiency, decision-making, and digital transformation initiatives.
Abinayan volunteered as an IT Assistant at Arivakam Tamil Cultural Academy. In this role, he provided technical support, assisted with system setup and troubleshooting, and contributed to improving digital processes within the organization. This experience strengthened his problem-solving abilities, technical proficiency, and communication skills when working with non-technical stakeholders.
Through his academic training, research experience, and volunteer work, Abinayan has developed a strong skill set that includes systems analysis, data interpretation, business process improvement, stakeholder communication, and attention to detail. He is particularly interested in understanding how organizations can align technology solutions with business objectives to drive measurable outcomes.
His long-term goal is to become a Business Systems Analyst, where he can bridge the gap between business needs and technological solutions. Abinayan aspires to contribute to organizations by optimizing systems, enhancing operational performance, and supporting data-driven decision-making in an increasingly digital business landscape.
