Michael Cotton was hired from international architectural firm Snøhetta to oversee the design of Ryerson's award-winning Student Learning Centre (SLC). Cotton discusses how this open, versatile space will support a better student experience on campus and compliment the university's ongoing city-building initiatives.

The SLC is the newest addition to Ryerson's campus, and is dedicated to providing students with new spaces to study, collaborate, and access services such as group work spaces, phone-charging stations and the Student Learning Support (SLS) office. The building has won six international architecture and design-related awards.
