The Ted Rogers School of Management (TRSM) has presented its  (PDF file) intent to propose a new Master of Real Estate (MRE), an intensive 12-month, course-based professional master’s program. This Notice of Intent (NOI) will be available online for the customary review period of 30 days, until October 30, 2026.

The MRE aims to prepare the next generation of leaders for careers in Canada’s dynamic real estate markets and their growing international connections. Building on the strength of TRSM’s undergraduate Real Estate Management program, the proposed MRE will be the only Canadian graduate real estate program with core courses in both real estate data analytics and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, machine learning and property technology. These will be offered alongside other core courses including real estate finance, economics, asset valuation and development, with comparative international perspectives integrated throughout the curriculum.

Through case-based learning, applied research and industry engagement, students will develop the skills to analyze and underwrite complex transactions, work with spatial and financial data, evaluate and apply emerging technologies and AI tools, and integrate sustainability and community considerations into real estate decisions. Students will choose a capstone research paper, a four-month industry internship or international experience fieldwork to complete the program, allowing them to pursue scholarly, professional or practice-oriented goals.

More information on the proposed program is available in the  (PDF file) NOI.

Please review the NOI and provide feedback and comments by emailing provost@torontomu.ca before October 30, 2026.

Thank you in advance for your review and input,

Roberta Iannacito-Provenzano,

Provost and Vice-President, Academic
