Students walk down Gould Street.

A search committee for Dean, Faculty of Community Services will be established in keeping with university policy.

Kiaras Gharabaghi will be completing his first term as dean of the Faculty of Community Services on June 30, 2026 and has signalled to the Provost & Vice-President, Academic that he is not seeking a second term.

I would like to thank Kiaras for serving as dean since 2021. A respected academic leader, Kiaras has nearly 25 years of experience in community engagement and program development. He brought a wealth of knowledge to this role while also demonstrating a deep commitment to collegiality, collaboration and a passion for teaching and learning.

In keeping with the university’s policy for the Appointment of Academic Administrators (AAA policy), I am writing to announce that a search committee will be established for the dean of the Faculty of Community Services.

The formation of the committee and the subsequent search will adhere to TMU’s policies and procedures and will reflect best practices on equity, diversity and inclusion, harassment prevention, and access.

Individuals who are eligible to nominate and vote for members of the search committee will receive further information regarding important dates and nominations directly from the Senate Office.

I look forward to sharing the composition of the search committee in the coming weeks.

Provost and Vice-President, Academic
