To mark the 10th anniversary of the TRC report, the First 10/Next 10 campaign launched with an information session inviting the TMU community to reflect, respond and take action.

This year marks 10 years since  the Truth and Reconciliation Commission released its Final Report and  (PDF file) 94 Calls to Action (external link) . It marks an important moment to reflect on how the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) community has responded and what still lies ahead.

To honour this milestone during National Indigenous Peoples Month, TMU is launching First 10/Next 10: TRC Poster Series, a digital poster campaign open to all university community members.

Community members attend the First 10/Next 10 info session, marking the launch of a university-wide initiative to reflect on TMU’s responses to the TRC Calls to Action and commit to continued truth and reconciliation work.

Who can participate

Students, faculty and staff across TMU can submit posters showing how they’ve taken action on a specific TRC Call to Action. Each digital poster will highlight one initiative, such as:

  • Events or courses
  • Programs or policies
  • Resources or research projects

Where your posters will appear

Your posters will be displayed throughout the fall at campus events and on digital screens across TMU. They’ll also be archived as a permanent resource on the Indigenous TMU website.

How to submit a poster

Visit the campaign webpage for poster templates and submission guidelines. Check back regularly for upcoming information sessions.

Deadline: August 27, 2025

Launch date: September 30, 2025

After the deadline, posters will be reviewed for inclusion in the display.

Why this campaign matters

Truth and Reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility. This campus-wide visual archive will:

  • Show the diverse ways our community responds to the Calls to Action
  • Create space for ongoing reconciliation work
  • Build a lasting record of TMU's commitment
