Bold Women Giving Collective champions female athletes
A look back at the Bold Women Giving Collective launch celebrating mentorship and empowering the future of women in sport.
Student-athletes, alumni, university leadership and community supporters came together at the Mattamy Athletic Centre on May 21 to celebrate the launch of the Bold Women Giving Collective (external link) (BWGC).
This initiative is dedicated to supporting, mentoring and empowering TMU Bold female athletes and alumni so they have the resources they need on and off the field.
The launch marked a powerful beginning for this initiative and featured keynote speaker Monica Wright Rogers, general manager of the Toronto Tempo, who inspired the crowd with her message that the future of sport for women in Canada is "limitless."
"Monica's words captured exactly what we believe at TMU," said Robyn Kennedy, Associate Director of Advancement for Athletics and Recreation, and lead organizer of the Bold Women Giving Collective.
"When we invest our time, passion and resources into women athletes, we unlock a future full of potential - not just for individuals, but for our entire community," she added.
"Supporting our student-athletes is about more than sport - it's about creating space for women to lead, inspire and thrive," said Louise Cowin, Executive Director, Athletics and Recreation. "This initiative exemplifies our commitment to building a more inclusive and empowered future."
