Toronto Metropolitan University is pleased to co-host “Architecture for a Sustainable Future - The Vision of Mario Cucinella”, the first Canadian exhibition dedicated to the work of internationally acclaimed architect Mario Cucinella and his Bologna and Milan-based studio, MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects. Presented in partnership with ICFF Architettura & Design, a key program of the Italian Contemporary Film Festival (ICFF), the exhibition highlights the depth and vision of Cucinella’s architectural practice.
Celebrated for his innovative and sustainable approach to architecture, Cucinella brings to Toronto a compelling body of work that bridges design excellence with environmental and social consciousness. The exhibition offers an immersive look at some of his most significant contributions to the field.
Exhibition Highlights:
• Architectural Models & Project Displays - Featuring landmark sustainable designs including TECLA (the world's first 3D-printed clay house), the Italian Pavilion for Expo Osaka 2025, and Milan's Unipol Tower
• Multimedia & Interactive Installations - Digital presentations, interviews and conceptual videos exploring Cucinella's philosophy of regenerative architecture and urban resilience
This showcase invites visitors to reflect on how architecture can shape more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable communities, offering a timely perspective on the built environment’s role in addressing global challenges.
