Dr. Rebecca Caines is an interdisciplinary artist-scholar whose research bridges creative technologies, socially engaged art, and improvisation. Her work explores the intersection of art and technology with a focus on social justice, community, and ethical connection. She has led international, strengths-based participatory projects addressing social isolation and stigma, such as ImprovEnabled and multiPLAY. Caines’ publications span leading journals and anthologies on performance, community engagement, and improvisation. A founding member of innovative academic programs and research centers, she continues to advance the role of art and technology in fostering inclusive dialogue and transformative collaboration in Canada and beyond.
