Membership
The Global Migration Institute welcomes faculty, staff, early career researchers, and students who are committed to advancing research, policy, and practice in migration to join as members. Membership provides opportunities to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, contribute to public and policy-relevant scholarship, and participate in the Institute’s research and knowledge-mobilization activities
Become a member of the Global Migration Institute!
Open to Toronto Metropolitan University faculty (Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors), postdoctoral fellows, and senior research associates who are actively contributing to migration-related research, policy, and practice.

Responsibilities
Members are expected to:
- Actively contribute to the work of the Institute through research, advocacy, or policy development
- Participate in Institute meetings and events
- Attribute migration-related research grants to the Global Migration Institute
Affiliate Membership is open to researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and professionals outside Toronto Metropolitan University whose work aligns with the Institute’s mission and activities.

Responsibilities
Affiliate Members are expected to:
- Contribute to the Institute’s activities through research collaboration, policy engagement, or knowledge exchange
- Participate in Institute events and initiatives
Student membership is open to graduate students at TMU with a demonstrated interest in migration research, policy, or practice.

Responsibilities
Student Members are expected to:
- Actively engage in Institute activities, events, or working groups
How to apply
Applicants can apply directly on a rolling basis. Applications must include a 2-4 page short CV, a letter (one page or max 500 words of how they will contribute to the Institute’s mission and work and why it is beneficial for them to join).
