Shari Hodges appointed university registrar and executive director, strategic enrolment management
The university is pleased to announce that, following a comprehensive search process, Shari Hodges has been appointed as the new university registrar and executive director, strategic enrolment management.
Shari has been interim registrar since March 2024 and began in the role permanently on January 1, 2026.
With over 23 years of service at TMU, Shari has held progressive leadership roles across the institution, both within academic faculties and at the institutional level.
Prior to joining the Office of the Registrar, she most recently held the role of director, engineering student admissions and recruitment at the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science (FEAS).
Deep knowledge of registrarial operations
Her extensive experience provides her with a deep knowledge of registrarial operations, with expertise in areas such as undergraduate and graduate admissions, marketing and student recruitment, academic policy, and strategic enrolment management (SEM).
The university registrar and executive director, strategic enrolment management is a pivotal role that will drive digital transformation, institutional alignment, and exceptional student service across the entire student lifecycle – from recruitment and admissions through to graduation and beyond.
In alignment with the academic plan’s focus on student success and ensuring future readiness, Shari will lead the transformation of systems to ensure the Office of the Registrar serves as a hub for academic policy expertise, institutional data, and analytics that inform decision-making across TMU.
Shari will report to the vice-provost, students, and work directly with the provost and vice-president, academic to facilitate meaningful engagement on academic and SEM related matters.
Active leader
Shari holds a master of education from York University. An active leader in the higher education sector, she serves on the executive of the Ontario University Registrars' Association (OURA), and contributes to national discussions through the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC) and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).
As a dedicated change leader who fosters a culture of trust, collaboration, and shared accountability, we are thrilled to welcome Shari to this integral role at the university.
