Charles Falzon will be completing his second and final term as dean of The Creative School on June 30, 2025.

In keeping with the university’s policy for the Appointment of Academic Administrators (AAA policy), I am writing to announce that a search committee will be established for the dean of The Creative School.

The formation of the committee and the subsequent search will adhere to TMU’s policies and procedures and will reflect best practices on equity, diversity and inclusion, harassment prevention, and access.

Members of the respective academic units who are eligible to nominate and vote for members of the search committee will receive further information regarding important dates and nominations directly from the Senate Office.

Charles Falzon is a distinguished educator, having taught at Toronto Metropolitan University for more than 20 years, and a former media executive with award-winning productions to his credit. As dean of The Creative School and previously chair of The RTA School of Media, he renewed the faculty's reputation, fostered cross-disciplinary collaborations, supported the development of progressive curriculum approaches and launched several transdisciplinary hubs, zones and programs. He has also been a leader in developing international experiences and programming for both students and faculty. I would like to thank Charles for his dedication and commitment to the university over his two terms as dean.

I look forward to sharing the composition of the search committee in the coming weeks.
