Patrizia Albanese.

Patrizia Albanese will take up the post of interim vice-provost, faculty affairs on October 17.

I am pleased to announce the interim appointment of Patrizia Albanese as vice-provost, faculty affairs of Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), effective October 17, 2022.

Patrizia is a dedicated leader who has been with the university since 2003. She is the current associate dean, research and graduate studies in the Faculty of Arts, where she provides effective academic and administrative leadership to faculty in support of their research, scholarly and creative activities.

Throughout her tenure, Patrizia has held many leadership roles at TMU, including chair of the Research Ethics Board, interim chair of criminology, interim graduate director of PhD policy studies and interim director of arts and contemporary studies. As the interim vice-provost, faculty affairs she will play a key role in advancing the recruitment, retention, evaluation and professional development of faculty and will provide leadership in all areas of employee relations with the faculty association and union.

I’m confident that Patrizia will be a great leader for the Office of the Vice-Provost, Faculty Affairs and will support and guide academic employees in their relationship with students and the university community. I look forward to working closely with Patrizia to further the university’s academic mission and to ensure our faculty and contract lecturers find TMU a rewarding and satisfying place to build their careers as educators, scholars and colleagues.
