Migration in Canada and Germany

Over the last two decades, my research program has involved empirical projects in Canada and Germany. This program included cross-country comparisons on national migration policies and discourses as well as case studies in both countries on labour migration and urban approaches towards the inclusion of vulnerable and non-status migrants and refugees.

This reseach program was recognized in 2015 by the Konrad Adenauer Research Award (external link) honouring "researchers from Canada whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had a significant impact on their own discipline and beyond, whose personality and research contribute to the academic and cultural exchange between the Federal Republic of Germany and Canada."
