The Active Learning Classroom is available for course-based teaching through an application process.  If you are interested in using the classroom for your course, please complete the linked form above.

Applications to teach for the following semester close approximately eight (8) weeks before the semester begins.

Please be aware of the following:

  • Capacity is limited to 52 persons, including instructional staff.
  • Priority is given to courses that involve high levels of participation, collaboration, creative engagement, as well as courses employing Indigenous pedagogies.
  • The ALC is not suited for traditional lecture-style content delivery.

While we do our best to accommodate as many courses as possible, the room is in high demand, so not all applications can be accepted.

The Active Learning Classroom is available to book for events, including conferences, meetings, seminars, and workshops.

The room is prioritized for events that involve high levels of participation, collaboration, creative engagement, and is not suited for traditional lecture-style formats, presentations or panel discussions.

As the capacity is limited (52 persons), the Active Learning Classroom may not be suitable for all events. The Classroom is also in high demand, and not all requests can be accommodated.

It is recommended that you submit your request a minimum of four (4) weeks prior to the event start date and provide as much detail as possible about your event.

If you are interested in using the Active Learning Classroom for your event, please consult the  (google sheet) ALC booking availability (external link)  and complete the linked form above.
