Indigenous Fiscal Governance

This course explores financial management and accountability in Indigenous and public sector contexts. Students examine the nature of revenues in Indigenous contexts (contribution agreements, own-source revenue, etc.), budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and audit practices, alongside Indigenous models of fiscal accountability. Emphasis is placed on transparency, community engagement, and financial sovereignty, including analysis of the emerging national Indigenous financial institutions.
