Fundamentals of Information Technology

This course builds fluency in information technology, demystifying its basic foundations, including binary arithmetic and Boolean logic, computer representation of data, and digital representation of multimedia. Students are introduced to algorithmic problem-solving strategies and their implementations using computer programming languages. Workflow control structures, including selection, iteration and functions, and data structures, including lists and object-oriented programming constructs, are used to design and implement algorithmic solutions. The course concludes with perspectives on artificial intelligence as a transformative driver of information technology.
