Film Production III: Documentary
In this course, students will draw inspiration from their personal experiences and contemporary realities to craft compelling short-format documentaries that explore the complexities of real-life subjects and social issues. Working collaboratively in small groups, students will practice directing, producing, cinematography, sound recording, and editing. The course will critically examine influential documentary films and filmmakers to investigate the creative potential, ethical challenges (such as informed consent, representation, and filmmaker-subject relationships), and social responsibilities inherent in non-fiction storytelling.
