Food, Society, Trends and Influence
Food reflects culture, identity, and shifting social trends. This course explores how food trends emerge and how media and influencers shape what people eat. From viral food crazes to long-standing culinary traditions, students will examine the role of storytelling, social media, and cultural movements in shaping food choices. Through research, experiential learning, and professional-style food critiques, students will explore the authenticity, sustainability, and success of modern food trends and evaluate how food trends influence the way we eat.
