French Language and Culture
This course introduces students to elements of cultural studies, literary and linguistic analysis while fostering an appreciation of French language and culture. Students will examine texts from a range of sources, including works by representative French authors (novels, theatre, short stories, comics, and screen adaptations). These works are analyzed within their historical, political, social, and cultural contexts, with particular attention to the evolving symbols of French identity.
