Networked Systems Security

Network attacks, including scanning, exploits and denial- of- service attacks. Cryptographic mechanisms, such as symmetric encryption, message digests and public-key crypto. Security tools and protocols at different layers of the network stack, such as Layer 3 (IPSEC), Layer 4 (SSL) and Layer 7 (Kerberos). Intrusion detection systems, viruses, firewalls, VPNs and other security tools. Wireless security issues (Layer 2).
