Appendix B: Use of artificial intelligence disclosure and methodology

The task force used AI tools to support its work throughout various stages in the process of developing this report. Those tools included:

• Google Gemini
• Google NotebookLM
• Mentimeter

Both Google AI tools used during the course of the task force’s work are covered by TMU’s  Google Workspace for Education Terms of Service (external link) , which provides enhanced data privacy and security. All activities using these tools are not used to train Google’s AI models.

The task force used Google AI tools to synthesize and summarize meeting notes, surveys, and consultation feedback notes. Those outputs were reviewed and analyzed by members of the task force and its working groups. These tools were also used to generate presentation slides and images used in presentations.

During the in-person town hall consultation sessions, moderators used Mentimeter, a web-based live polling and surveying tool, which includes AI features to summarize and group survey feedback.

This report was written by members of the task force based on notes from the working groups and the community consultations. Members of the task force reviewed early drafts and made suggestions and subsequent revisions.

AI tools were used for minor and technical assistance. Tables were formatted using AI tools based on original content. No AI tools were used for the conceptual development of this report or drafting content.
