Addictions and Mental Health

The course will examine public and occupational health perspectives related to addictions and mental health. Health policy, epidemiology, health equity considerations, harm reduction, and prevention and response services and approaches will be covered for a range of issues, including use of alcohol, cannabis, opioids, and other illicit substances, problem gambling, life and wellness promotion, and suicide risk and prevention. The role of public and occupational health agencies to address these issues will be emphasized.
