Quality Improvement and Patient Safety

In this course, students will explore quality improvement, patient and healthcare provider safety frameworks. Continuous quality improvement theories and models will be examined with opportunities for data analysis. Health human resource models are appraised for healthcare delivery efficacy. Nurse and patient experience of the healthcare system and outcomes are critically examined for quality improvement implications. The Ontario Hospital Association standard emergency colour code system will be integrated in the context of patient and healthcare provider safety.
