Qualitative/Quantitative Nursing Research

Students will examine the contribution of research to nursing science and its relationship between theory and practice. The focus will be on the research process, in the positivist and naturalist paradigms, and mixed methods designs. Students will analyze narrative and statistical data within the context of simulated research case studies. The ethical conduct of research will be addressed. Students will learn to interpret and critically appraise nursing research studies, applying research findings to evidence-based practice.
