Perinatal/Pediatric

Students will advance their knowledge and assessment skills in perinatal and pediatric nursing care. Perinatal nursing care will include conception, pregnancy, labour and delivery and postpartum and related acute and chronic conditions. Pediatric nursing care will include acute and chronic disorders. Students will also integrate knowledge concerning patient- and family-centred nursing and theoretically-informed approaches to caring for perinatal and pediatric patients and families. Adverse childhood experiences and intimate partner violence will be explored.
