Mental Health and Addictions
Students will integrate biopsychosocial and spiritual theories to explore the mental health and mental illness continuum for individuals, families, communities and diverse populations. Substance use and addiction across the lifespan are examined. Determinants of mental health and their influences on understanding mental illness and addictions will be examined. Students will appraise theory, research and issues in mental health services and models of care to critically inform mental health nursing’s evidence-based knowledge and competencies.
