Media Literacy and Information
Students will develop critical skills to analyze, evaluate, and responsibly use media and information in a variety of formats. The course explores how media shapes perceptions of race, gender, class, and power, and it examines the ethical implications of information production and consumption in a digital age. Topics include the role of media in shaping society, media bias, mis- and dis-information, information privilege, propaganda, censorship, privacy, and the role of media in activism and advocacy.
