Skateboarding as a Cultural Bridge
This course aims to develop a critical understanding of how skateboarding and skateboarding culture contributes to intercultural communications globally. It will develop students' academic reading and writing, critical thinking, and intercultural skills through an exploration of how skateboarding acts as a cultural bridge between different cultures and language communities and a medium of expression for traditionally marginalized social groups. Students will play an important role in the development of these discussions over the course of the term.
