Indigenous Oral Tradition

Throughout the history of the world, Indigenous peoples have used oral tradition as a means of disseminating cultural values, customs, traditions and worldviews. This course will explore the oral tradition tales of several Indigenous nations across the earth. Through the study of Indigenous oral tradition tales, students will develop greater insight and understanding of Indigenous culture in general, as well as the cultural beliefs and perspectives of each particular Indigenous nation encountered.
