Francophone Language and Culture
This course explores the literature and culture of French-speaking regions such as Africa, Canada, and the Caribbean through texts, films, music, and media. Students will examine themes like identity, language, memory, history, resistance, and power. They will examine how cultural works reflect and respond to social and political contexts, while developing critical tools to analyze diverse Francophone expressions and explore what it means to create and live within varied cultural and linguistic settings.
