Roots and Resistance to ABR

This multidisciplinary course critically examines the histories and manifestations of anti-Black racism in modern society and the globalized world. An anti-Black racism social theoretical framework underpins the exploration of historical and contemporary realities of being Black in the world and the ways Blackness has been socially constructed in opposition to Euro-Western assumptions of humanity. The course provides opportunities to examine historical and contemporary resistance movements, through topics and experiences of anti-Black racism in our society.
