Therapeutic Assessment and Healing
The lives of children and youth are impacted by unique realities that must be framed through child-centred lenses. This course integrates a range of theoretical and applied approaches to examine structural risk factors that negatively impact child and youth wellbeing, such as violence, trauma and economic instability, and to highlight protective factors that enhance their wellbeing. The course explores mental health therapeutic knowledge, assessment strategies, and healing techniques. Students can take this knowledge into relational therapeutic work in placements and career pathways.
