Children, Youth and Mental Health
This course will provide students with an introduction to the theoretical and practice-informed perspectives that are relevant to working with children, youth and their families. The course will delve into the world of these families to examine the systemic, structural and institutional factors that destabilize these communities. The course will highlight the historical and contemporary relations of power and factors that result in oppressive and marginalizing practices, while highlighting the strategies that these communities employ to resist and thrive.
