Sohail Shahidnia
Sohail Shahidnia is a PhD student in Policy Studies at Ryerson University. He holds a BA in Law and Justice from Laurentian Univeristy and a MA in Criminology and Sociolegal Studies from University of Toronto. His lived experiences as an international student has led him to work on various reesarch projects in migration studies. He is currently working as a research supervisor and Co-PI on a SSHRC funded project, titled, "COVID-19 challenges and resilience of international students and local institutions in the city of Greater Sudbury". His research interests include experiences of international students, settelement and integration, Canadian Immigraiton policies and discrimination, media and immigration, and social policy. Upon successful completion of his graduate studies, Sohail is interested in becoming a professor in the field of immigration and open his immigration consultancy firm.
