James Langlois

I'm James Langlois, a PhD student in the Public Policy and Administration stream. My research focus at Ryerson is the normative dimension of public policy pedagogy. More specifically, I am interested in how policy programs (e.g., master's-level degree programs) should incorporate normative theory, such as moral and political philosophy. I am currently a Senior Policy Analyst at the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA). I have been with FSRA since May 2020. Prior to joining FSRA, I worked in the Ontario Public Service (OPS) for three years. During my time in the OPS, I worked on policy issues in adult education and workforce development. I previously studied public policy and philosophy at the University of Toronto. I completed my Master of Public Policy (MPP) in 2019, MA (philosophy) in 2016, and BA (philosophy) in 2015.
